PeltieCool - Behind the branding

I went through the presentation of the idea behind the product and gathered as much information about it as I could. My plan from the beginning was to of course design the product itself, therefore I started with thorough research on the product. As usual, I checked the competitors market and their branding, and also companies that produce products that are not neceserilly connected to the laboratory environment.

At first I didn’t know what direction I should take. I was playing around with different colors and shapes. However I have at this point decided on the color! WHY YELLOW? I wanted something that stands out, something aggressive, something people remember and recognize. The reason why I chose yellow was because I was thinking not only about the brand, but about the product itself as well. The product is going to be in a laboratory, which where everything is either white or transparent. Yellow fits extremely well into this environment.

After some initial sketches, I started taking a certain direction with my logo. I liked the idea of presenting hot/cold with a simple symbol. This is why went with a straight and curvy line. I was stuck with this symbol for quite a while.

CONCEPT 1

This was my first concept for the logo and its implementations. However, I wanted to try other styles as well, but keeping the yellow color.

CONCEPT 2

Second concept was really minimal. Played with the idea of a celsium sign as the central part of the brand.

CONCEPT 3

Concept 3 was totally playful. I went with something more childish to see if it could work!

CONCEPT 4

I liked concept 1 the most, and I really liked the idea of the symbol I had. Therefore, I stuck with it and developed it further.

Final

After some feedback of people saying it is too heavy, I tried to create some space to breathe inside of the logo and therefore I separated it into 2 parts. This was my final logo.

Alongside the branding design, I was working on the product design as well. I decided on the colors and on the shape, and was trying to approach my designs to the branding concepts I designed.

After digital sketches, I decided to do a real life mock up as well, with the right measurements.

In the end after the physical mock up, I took my sketches and designs into blender to do a 3d render and a promotional video!

AFTER THIS, THE FINAL CONCEPT WAS CREATED!
